FLEXcon, a manufacturer of wide-web, roll-to-roll coating, laminating and finishing of polymeric materials, now offers a range of PVguard TPE multi-layer backsheet solutions for use in photovoltaic-panel production.
Available for use with either slow-cure or fast-cure encapsulants, PVguard delivers the long-lasting UV, moisture and partial discharge protection that module and encapsulant producers require, the company says. To enhance strength and durability, FLEXcon incorporates a proprietary laminating adhesive for superior film bonding. PVguard products also meet all applicable IEC and UL requirements, FLEXcon adds.
PVguard 105040W is FLEXcon's backsheet protective laminate for use with slow-cure encapsulants. It is a TPE – Tedlar/ PET / EVA – construction that is RoHS-compliant and has a partial discharge rating from TUV of >1000 volts.
PVguard 10E40W is a backsheet protective laminate for use with fast-cure encapsulants. It is also a TPE – Tedlar/ PET / EVA – construction that is RoHS-compliant and UL-recognized under UL QIHE2 file number E318502.
PVguard 10E40W backsheet has a partial discharge rating from TUV of >1000 volts. The white EVA tie layer on both PVguard products, which adheres to the encapsulant EVA during module lamination, provides for reflectivity to improve module efficiency.
