Standard Renewable Energy (SRE), a distributed energy services company, says it has introduced a solar rebate for Texas residents in response to the state Legislature's recent rejection of proposed solar incentives that would have included a rebate.
Under SRE's program, Texas residents will receive a $2.00 per DC watt rebate on an installed residential solar panel system (with a minimum size of 1.4 kW) purchased from SRE between June 9 and July 31. The amount of the instant rebate will be deducted from the total amount of the invoice for the solar panel system purchased by a qualifying customer, the company notes. The instant rebate will not be provided to or mailed to customers in the form of cash or check after the customer's purchase.
Additionally, SRE says it plans to open a new office in San Antonio and hire hundreds of new employees in response to anticipated demand for solar systems and efficiency upgrades.
