Rocklin, Calif.-based SMA America Inc. is now offering residential solar installers the new Sunny Tower inverter system.
According to the company, the new system is pre-configured for a per-tower capacity of 36 kW or 42 kW. The Sunny Tower requires only a fraction of the space that would normally be needed to hang multiple string inverters, and its modular design eliminates the need for heavy machinery like large central inverters, the company adds.
Production monitoring for the system can be done through the Sunny Portal, a free Web-based portal that provides a graphic display of performance data, and system performance data can be uploaded to the Sunny Portal via the available built-in Sunny WebBox at intervals chosen by the user.
