The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved the installation of CalRENEW-1, a 5 MW photovoltaic AC facility, to be located in Mendota, Calif.
The project will utilize five 1 MW Prism solutions provided by Satcon Technology Corp., which the company says come with factory-integrated, medium-voltage transformers, switchgear and electronics. Each Prism solution is delivered complete in an all-climate outdoor enclosure and is ready to connect to the PV array and utility grid, Satcon explains.
The electricity generated from the project will be sold to Pacific Gas & Electric under a long-term power purchase agreement.
