MiniTec GmbH & Co. KG, a provider of photovoltaic module production equipment, has partnered with SunLaser Consulting GmbH to unveil a solar thermal center of competence.
Located in Waldmohr, Germany, the facility features a demo fabrication line, including a laser welding line, designed to teach best practices in solar thermal equipment production. The center will provide a forum for customer demonstrations, training and practical experience in collector fabrication, and new product development.
At the center, customers can obtain a license for a flat-plate collector with a laser-welded absorber featuring the mirotherm absorber coating from Alanod-Solar. Certification is provided by Solarkeymark and the Solar Rating and Certification Corp. This new offering eliminates the two-year lead-time normally required for construction, testing and certification, the companies note.
