President Obama has announced the awarding of $2.3 billion in Recovery Act Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits for clean energy manufacturing projects across the U.S.
A total of 183 projects in 43 states will create tens of thousands of clean energy jobs and encourage the domestic manufacturing of advanced clean energy technologies including solar, wind and efficiency and energy management technologies, the White House says.
The investment tax credits, worth up to 30% of each planned project, will leverage private capital for a total investment of nearly $7.7 billion in high-tech manufacturing in the U.S. The projects were competitively selected through a rigorous merit review process.
Recipients planning solar-related projects include the following companies: Abound Solar, Advanced Energy Industries Inc., Amonix Inc., Applied Photovoltaics LLC, Centrosolar Oregon LLC, Dow Corning – Solar Silane, EI du Pont du Nemours and Co., FAFCO Inc., First Solar Inc., Flabeg Solar U.S. Corp., Greenray Inc., Guardian Automotive Products Inc. and Guardian Industries Corp., Miasole, Nanosolar, Pacific Metal Fab LLC, PPG Industries Inc., Rioglass Solar Inc., Saint Gobain Solar Glass NA, Solar Power Industries Inc., Spire Semiconductor LLC, Stion Corp., Sumco Phoenix, SunEarth Inc., Suniva Inc., Suntech, The Dow Co., Wacker Polysilicon North America LLC and Yingli Green Energy Americas.
