Real Goods Solar, based in San Rafael, Calif., has completed a 417 kW solar electric system at Richmond Village, an affordable-housing community in Richmond, Calif.
The completion marks the culmination of Real Goods Solar's participation in the design and installation of 790 kW DC of solar electricity across four separate affordable-housing communities in the Bay Area: three in San Francisco and one in Richmond, the company says. The systems were financed through a power purchase agreement.
Sunwheel Energy Partners, a provider of solar energy programs for community partners, including affordable housing and civic and educational institutions, and Solar Richmond, a nonprofit green-collar jobs training organization, partnered with Real Goods Solar on the project.
