Premier Power Renewable Energy Inc. says that the Monteparano plant, the second in a series of 1 MW solar power plants that it designed and constructed in Italy, has been connected to the power grid and is now operational.
The project is located in the Puglia region of southern Italy and is a part of the series of solar projects that are being developed by Premier Power Italy SPA for customers in Italy. This solar power plant has been connected to the Enel electric power grid, at a medium voltage of 20 kV.
This plant uses Canadian Solar 230 W crystalline silicon modules and Power One 330 kW Aurora inverters. It makes use of an environmentally friendly racking system attached to the ground using one-meter-long steel screws, ensuring minimal disruption to the land and surrounding environment, Premier Power notes.
