Ontario Solar Academy (OSA) says it has become Canada's first photovoltaic training program to receive Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISPQ) accreditation from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC).
Built around an international framework of standards, ISPQ accreditation confers legitimacy in renewable energy education, certifying that a program has the requisite resources to prepare a green workforce. ISPQ accreditation is currently the highest international recognition in solar training, OSA says.
‘ISPQ accreditation is the gold standard in renewable energy education,’ says Jacob Travis, director of OSA. ‘Without certified programs, Ontario's growth potential is severely limited.’
