Krayden Inc., a distributor of engineered materials, has introduced Dow Corning's 1-2620 solar cell coating, the low-viscosity conformal coating version of Dow Corning's 1-2577.
The coating is an abrasion-resistant protective coating for solar cells and modules that can be used for module repair of abrasions, cuts and scratches, the company explains.
Dow Corning 1-2620 features good dielectric properties, resistance to humidity and other harsh environments, excellent abrasion resistance and a firm, dry surface for better handling after cure, according to Krayden. The coating is a self-priming, translucent liquid, one-part room-temperature-vulcanization silicone resin that cures to clear elastoplastic resin film.
