Apricus Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of solar thermal and other renewable energy products, has supplied a solar heating system at the campus of California State University, Sacramento.
Working with JR Plumbing, Apricus outfitted a new Sacramento State residence hall with solar thermal functionality and usable heat. The new building features 40 AP-30 evacuated-tube solar collectors that passively absorb thermal energy from the sun and convert it into usable heat.
The solar installation incorporates an open-loop, domestic hot water system with 1,000 gallons of thermal energy storage. According to the company, this project will provide more than 475 million Btus of energy annually.
