National Renewable Energy Corp. (NARENCO), a solar project developer and contractor, has completed the installation of a 306 kW solar power system on the roof of the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport Maintenance Facility in Charlotte, N.C.
The solar power system consists of 1,330 230 W photovoltaic panels that are expected to generate 404 MWh of electricity annually. The system will be owned by NARENCO and leased to the airport through a 20-year lease agreement. The airport will sell the power and renewable energy credits to Duke Energy under a power purchase agreement.
