Sharp Manufacturing Co. of America (SMCA), Sharp's U.S. solar panel manufacturing plant, has completed an addition to the company's own solar electric system.
The new system comprises 910 roof-mounted Sharp solar modules totaling 200 kW and 264 ground-mounted Sharp solar modules totaling 59 kW for a total of 259 kW, more than doubling the facility's current solar electricity generation capacity. The system was designed and installed by S & T Control Wiring Inc. of Moscow, Tenn.
The new system brings SMCA's total solar power generation capacity to approximately 460 kW, the most in Memphis, the company says.
