Broadway Renewable Strategies LLC and Medway Middle School have completed the installation of a 386 kW PV project at the Medway, Mass., school.
The project is expected to provide an annual consumption offset of more than 50%, according to Broadway Renewable Strategies. Medway Public Schools, Broadway Renewable Strategies, Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources and the U.S. government collaborated on the project through the utilization of Gov. Deval Patrick's Green Communities Act and the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Medway received a $150,000 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant to install the system. Broadway Renewable Strategies was selected to perform the design and installation. The company will also own and maintain the system and sell its power to the school department at a discount.
