Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. (ASI) has released a UL1449 3rd Edition-recognized 1,000 VDC surge protection device (SPD).
The DIN-rail-mountable, pluggable module has a max discharge current (8/20) of 50 kA. The nominal discharge current (8/20) is 20 kA. The SPD uses patent-pending technology with high energy thermal protection to provide reliable surge protection, ASI says. It is designed to extinguish an arc internally to give a quick thermal response and device cutoff.
