The Branford Group, in conjunction with Joseph Finn Co., will conduct a series of auctions for the assets formerly of Konarka Technologies Inc., a provider of organic photovoltaic (OPV) technology and developer of thin-film plastic solar panels.
The series of sales will liquidate the company's two facilities, including its global headquarters and prototype laboratory in Lowell, Mass., and a manufacturing plant in New Bedford, Mass.
Konarka was founded in 2001 and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last June.
Thin-film OPV production equipment in the 250,000 square-foot processing plant and all supportive and related capital assets will be up for auction. The first of three sales will be conducted exclusively online, with bidding opening on January 9.
