Chevron Energy Solutions has started construction of a solar power and energy efficiency project for the Lucia Mar Unified School District in California.
The project includes 1.7 MW of solar generation capacity at seven district sites; upgraded heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; irrigation controls; and LED lighting. The program is expected to reduce the district's utility-purchased electricity costs by approximately 75%.
