Grape Solar says it has entered a strategic supply agreement with Sungrow Canada Inc., a joint-venture subsidiary of Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd. Under the agreement, Grape Solar has agreed to purchase 10 MW of Sungrow's 3 kW, 4 kW and 5 kW residential inverters, and 30 MW of Sungrow's 100 kW, 250 kW and 500 kW commercial inverters.
Under the agreement, Grape Solar also will manufacture solar panels in Ontario to meet the Ontario Power Authority's feed-in-tariff local-content requirements beginning in January 2011. These panels will be combined with made-in-Ontario Sungrow inverters.
