The Komax Group says it will reduce the number of employees at Komax Solar by approximately 70, in response to what it describes as a ‘persistently challenging economic environment’ facing the solar sector.
Earlier this year, Komax Solar employed approximately 285 people, most of whom worked outside of Switzerland. Komax also plans to continue implementing additional cost-cutting measures.
The global solar market remains in the grips of a crisis whose end is currently difficult to foresee, Komax says. However, solar will remain an attractive market in the longer term, the company adds. Therefore, its product range is being further developed and marketing efforts will continue.
