San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) has signed two new power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Silverado Power subsidiaries Western Antelope Dry Ranch LLC and Victor Mesa Linda B LLC for a total of 15 MW of solar energy.

Both contracts are for 20 years, and each requires approval from the California Public Utilities Commission.

Western Antelope Dry Ranch's project in Lancaster, Calif., will generate 10 MW of renewable energy, and Victor Mesa Linda B's project in Victorville, Calif., will generate 5 MW.

The projects are expected to create a total of 80 construction jobs over the course of construction, which is scheduled to take place between April 2013 and October 2013.

San Francisco Silverado Power develops utility-scale solar photovoltaic ground-mounted systems and is backed by the Martifer Group.
