Conn. Utility Files Results Of REC Solicitation

United Illuminating Co., a Connecticut electricity utility, has filed with the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) the results of its request for proposals for low-emission renewable energy credits (LRECs) and zero-emission renewable energy credits (ZRECs).

The small-scale ZREC tariff rate for accepted bids is expected to be approximately $148.89/REC, while the medium-scale rate is expected to be approximately $135.36/REC.

The utility is keeping confidential information on the 21 winning projects and companies involved. According to the Hartford Business Journal, the selected projects include 19 solar installations and two fuel-cell installations. All of the contracts are subject to approval by PURA.
