100 MW Nevada Solar Farm Receives Commission Approval

The Washoe County (Nevada) Planning Commission has voted unanimously to approve construction of Vidler Water Co.'s 100 MW solar project. The installation would be built at the Fish Spring Ranch, located about 45 miles north of downtown Reno, the Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

The project must now be approved by the Regional Planning Commission. If it proceeds, Vidler Water Co. will begin the first phase of construction in 2011. The project is expected to take 10 to 15 years to complete.
