4JET Technologies GmbH has introduced the FLEX tool, which is designed for processing flexible solar cells.
The tool's structure enables the P1-P3 serial integration of flexible copper indium gallium diselenide, amorphous-silicon and organic thin-film solar cells on polymer or metal substrates, thus allowing new approaches to the module design. The monolithic integration allows true roll-to-roll processing and provides advantages over connecting individual small cell shingles to a module, according to the company.
4JET has also launched a new version of its GDS tool for the laser drilling of solar glass. Unlike conventional mechanical processes, laser drilling provides for a touchless and dry process, as well as minimized wear on the substrate glass, 4JET says. Post-processing is not required.
