Laser system supplier 4JET GmbH, based in Alsdorf, Germany, has introduced the Lablator platform, a research and development and small-scale production tool for processing thin-film stacks on flexible or glass substrates.
The tool can be equipped to perform multiple processing operations, including laser patterning, laser edge deletion, laser glass drilling, laser marking, laser perforation and mechanical molybdenum exposure on copper indium gallium diselenide panels for busbar bonding preparation.
The design allows for integration of lasers of different wavelengths and pulse properties, the company adds. Processing is programmed on a machine interface. The units are fully self contained and include cooling and debris evacuation systems.
