ABB To Build 24.8 MW PV Plant With SunEdison

0

ABB, a power and automation technology group, has secured a contract from SunEdison to build a photovoltaic power plant at the Apex Industrial Park in North Las Vegas, Nev.

The 24.8 MW PV plant will supply power to NV Energy from an array of 87,168 solar panels covering an area of 154 acres on private land. The PV power plant is set to start delivering power to the grid in the second quarter of this year.

ABB's contract scope includes engineering, design, supply, construction and commissioning of the plant's balance-of-system components. It includes plant design and installation of PV panels, inverters and trackers.Â

ABB will supply 2,000 kVA pad-mounted transformers, medium-voltage switchgear and the central plant's SCADA system using the AC 500 automation system. Supervisory control is based on ABB's AC500 programmable logic controller using the Power Generation Portal Human System Interface.
