Advanced Energy Industries Inc. says its newest inverter, the AE 500, has been commissioned at one of 13 projects, totaling 4.5 MW, at the Toms River Regional School District in Ocean County, N.J.
The projects were developed by American Clean Energy. Advanced Energy says the AE 500, a 500 kW transformer-based inverter, features a 97% weighted California Energy Commission efficiency rating, wide DC operating range, fast-convergence maximum power point tracking and the ability to produce full power all the way to 55 degrees C.
The inverter also includes a DC circuit breaker subcombiner that enables low-cost compliance with current safety and electrical codes, and improved serviceability, the company adds.
