Nanosolar Inc., a Palo Alto, Calif.-headquartered designer of solar cells and panels using thin-film technology, and Germany-based Conergy Group, an international supplier of renewable products, have signed a long-term agreement to develop large-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems.

‘Delivering the next level of innovation in solar electricity requires product design work that takes a systems-wide perspective,’ says Martin Roscheisen, Nanosolar's chief executive officer. ‘We are excited about working with Conergy and integrating experience gained with more than 30,000 PV system installations worldwide.’

Conergy also has a positive outlook in regard to the agreement since, according to the company, it intends on substantially expanding its North American market share through the partnership. ‘Conergy's extensive engineering and system competence match perfectly with Nanosolar's best-in-class technology,’ adds Cameron Moore, the regional head of Conergy Group in North America.
