Los Gatos, Calif.-based Akeena Solar Inc., a solar system designer and installer, has acquired certain assets of Alternative Energy Inc. (AEI) of Santa Rosa, Calif. Under the terms of the acquisition, Akeena will assume AEI's backlog and commence a marketing campaign to take advantage of the solar power opportunities in Sonoma and Napa counties.
‘This acquisition is another step toward our goal of offering solar power to homes and businesses in target markets with high electricity costs,’ says Barry Cinnamon, Akeena's chief executive officer.
Santa Rosa is the company's fifth new location it has expanded into in the past year, Akeena adds.
