The MathWorks, a Natick, Mass.-based developer of mathematical computing software, says it has installed one of Massachusetts' largest photovoltaic arrays. The project is a 139.08 kW PV array installed by Alteris Renewables and partially funded through the Commonwealth Solar rebate program.
As an integral part of The MathWorks energy savings program, the PV array will save an estimated 7% of the total electricity used in one of three main buildings on the company's campus. The installation consists of 456 SunPower SPR-305 modules covering as much of the available roof space as feasible. Each module generates 305 W, and total energy production is estimated to be 155,000 kWh annually.
