Amonix Manufacturing Partner Lays Off Two-Thirds Of Workforce

0

Flextronics Industrial, a Singapore-based manufacturer that had entered into a manufacturing partnership with concentrating PV (CPV) solar provider Amonix, has cut approximately 200 workers at its North Las Vegas manufacturing facility.

Eric Culberson, director of manufacturing operations at Amonix, told the Las Vegas Sun that the layoffs are temporary and occurred due to a ‘retooling’ of the facility.

A new utility-scale CPV product is in the works, and Culberson said factory staffing will be ramped back up when the product is rolled out.

Amonix has not yet officially confirmed the layoffs. However, the company announced that it has now received ISO 9001:2008 and IEC 62108 certifications.
