Apollo Solar Energy Appoints Two Independent Directors

Apollo Solar Energy Inc., a vertically integrated miner, refiner and producer of tellurium and high-purity tellurium-based metals for specific segments of the global electronic materials market, has appointed two independent directors: Elliot M. Maza and James M. Lee. Maza has also been appointed to serve as chairman of the company's audit committee.

Maza has served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Intellect Neurosciences Inc., a development-stage biopharmaceutical company, since May 2006. From December 2003 to May 2006, he was chief financial officer of Emisphere Technologies Inc., a company specializing in oral drug delivery. Maza was previously a partner at Ernst and Young LLP and a vice president at Goldman Sachs Inc. and JP Morgan Securities Inc.

Lee previously served at Intel Corp. for 21 years and has 30 years' experience in the semiconductor industry. During his tenure at Intel, Lee successfully led a professional team developing DRAMs and the world's first commercial flash memories. Lee was also the director of Intel's California Technology Lab. Lee holds five U.S. patents in the semiconductor field.
