Apricus, a designer and manufacturer of solar hot water and hydronic heating products, has debuted the AP-30C evacuated-tube solar thermal collector. Designed for use in commercial projects, the collector meets the requirements of the Buy American Act and is eligible for use in projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the company says.
The product has been certified by the Solar Rating & Certification Corp., the Canadian Standards Association and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.
The collector features a marine-grade 316 stainless-steel frame and manifold casing that are designed to withstand harsh environments, such as coastal applications. Mounted at only four points, the AP-30C is easy to install and low-maintenance, Apricus adds.
Through a partnership with Engineering Specialties Inc., a Connecticut-based company specializing in mechanical assemblies and custom components, Apricus will now manufacture all steel components and complete final assembly of the AP-30C locally.
The AP-30C will be available for purchase in mid-June through Apricus' nationwide network of representatives.
