AQT Solar, a developer of copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin-film solar cells, says the first shipment of modules containing AQT CIGS solar cells has been made.
The company also announced that it has shipped cells to several customers and currently has an order backlog of 160 MW, of which approximately 50 MW is due in 2011. AQT Solar opened a production facility in Sunnyvale, Calif., this August.
