Arkema, INES Develop French Research Lab For PV Polymer Materials

0

Global chemical company Arkema and research organization Institut National de l'Energie Solaire (INES) have set up a joint public/private research laboratory dedicated to polymers for photovoltaics.

The lab, located near Chambery, France, will be dedicated to the development of polymer materials for various photovoltaic module technologies. This laboratory will combine Arkema's work in polymers, polymer films and nanomaterials with the work of the INES teams in design and in development processes for photovoltaic modules, silicon and thin layers.

This venture will be in place for an initial four-year period. According to the project partners, the research will help expand France's PV sector and enhance its research competitiveness in this strategic area.
