Array Technologies, a U.S.-based manufacturer of solar tracking systems and related products for utility-scale, commercial-scale and residential-scale customers, says it has begun the first shipment of solar tracking systems for a utility-scale PV project developed by Recurrent Energy for Sacramento Municipal Utility District's (SMUD) 50 MW installation in southern Sacramento County, Calif.
Array Technologies is providing horizontal, single-axis trackers and ground-mount racks for the SMUD project. The project consists of three sites in the Sacramento region: Kammerer and Bruceville (19 MW each), and Dillard (12 MW).
Final project commissioning is scheduled for spring 2012.
