Ascent Solar Technologies Inc., a Thornton, Colo.-based developer of flexible thin-film solar modules, has hired Zane Rakes as vice president of manufacturing operations. He has over 16 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing systems, inventory management, manufacturing automation systems and global supply-chain management.
Immediately prior to joining Ascent Solar, Rakes was director of operations for concentrated solar power and photovoltaics at SCHOTT Solar Inc. Prior to working at SCHOTT Solar, he worked at Intel Corp. for over 15 years in various manufacturing positions.
