Ascent Solar Technologies Inc., a Littleton, Colo.-headquartered developer of PV materials and modules, has announced plans to expand its current board of directors to seven members pursuant to an agreement signed with Norsk Hydro and approved by Ascent Solar's shareholders.
The company has appointed Amit Kumar and Einar Glomnes as new directors. Glomnes is head of Hydro's solar division and will represent Hydro on the Ascent Solar Board. Hydro also will select a non-voting individual to attend meetings of the Board of Directors, Ascent Solar adds.
Kumar is currently serving as president and chief executive officer of Combimatrix Corp., a position he has held since September 2001. Previously, he was vice president of life sciences of Acacia Research Corp.
