Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc.'s Germany-based solar photovoltaic partner, Asola, has partnered with Eurobox Impianti SRL to establish a joint venture in southern Italy that will enable the production and distribution of solar modules.
The initial capacity of the production line will be 30 MW of monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon modules, the companies say. To support the facility's operations, Quantum and Asola previously entered into a long-term supply agreement with Ersol Solar Energy AG for the procurement of 155 MW of high-efficiency silicon photovoltaic solar cells.
