Asola, the Germany-based solar photovoltaic partner of Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc., has signed a memorandum of understanding with Q&Tech/Yongsan Inc. to establish a manufacturing plant in South Korea.
Through the partnership, Asola and Q&Tech/Yongsan will be able to produce and distribute high-quality, German-designed solar modules. The initial capacity of the facility will be 30 MW of monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon solar modules.
The manufacturing facility in South Korea will employ equipment, processes and quality controls identical to Asola's 45 MW facility in Germany, the company says.
