ASYS Inc. has introduced a high-speed upgrade kit designed to allow existing users of ASYS' metallization lines to increase throughput by up to 22%.
The upgrade kit, consisting of hardware and software changes, can be installed in three days. Single-lane users will see their capacity increase from approximately 1,200 cells per hour to 1,440 cells per hour, the company says. For dual-lane users, the throughput will increase from approximately 2,200 cells per hour to 2,700 cells per hour.
Upgrading multiple lines may also allow customers to postpone or cancel plans for new metallization lines, thus providing cost savings, ASYS points out.
