Atlan International Holdings Corp., a global development, marketing, sales and acquisition company, says it is in the process of developing the SunTilt system, a follow-the-sun system for solar panels.
Atlan's R&D team expects this system to improve efficiency of the solar panel up to 35% when such systems are deployed. This effort marks the first of Atlan's initiatives with solar power and other renewable energy industries.
‘The project's genesis came from the fact that current technology is not efficient enough to sustain current growth, and demand for solar energy continues to grow; the solar energy industry was shadowed by the steep increases in the cost of raw materials like copper and high-grade silicon,’ says William H. Gordon, president of Atlan. ‘We expect this system to enter the market no later than the third quarter of 2008.’
