Taiwan-based AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) has created the ‘EU project’, a made-in-Europe integrated solar service alliance.
By using its solar module factory in Czech Republic as a platform of manufacturing center, AUO plans to provide made-in-Europe solar modules. The company says it is currently conferring with strategic partners and expects to formally kick off the project by the end of this year.Â
According to L.J. Chen, president of solar business operations of AU Optronics, the purpose of the alliance is to ‘provide an open platform with resource sharing concepts’ in an environment characterized by anti-dumping sentiment.
AUO has hosted a module factory in Brno, Czech Republic, since 2010. Its 2012 capacity reached 150 MW.
