Solar Frontier, a manufacturer of copper indium selenium (CIS) thin-film modules, and Belectric, a solar system integrator, have completed what the companies say is the world's largest CIS thin-film solar power plant.
The 28.8 MW project is located in Bochow, Brandenburg, Germany, and includes approximately 205,000 Solar Frontier CIS thin-film modules. The project's investor is CommerzReal, with financing provided by HypoVereinsbank/UniCredit.
Solar Frontier and Belectric created a new joint venture company, PV CIStems GmbH, in March.
