BlueChip Energy LLC (BCE), a solar energy provider for utility, commercial and residential applications, has signed a land lease agreement with the City of Eustis in Lake County, Fla., for 300 acres of land to be developed into a 60 MW solar farm.
The 300-acre property is adjacent to BCE's 40 MW Sorrento solar farm, which is now under construction. According to Paul Berg, Eustis city manager, the agreement not only provides BCE with a location with immediate access to the grid, but also allows the city to use solar energy to power its water and wastewater facility as a portion of BCE's lease payment.
