The Town of Sturbridge, Mass., has selected BlueWave Capital LLC, a solar energy project developer based in Boston, to develop solar energy projects for the town.
BlueWave will work with Sturbridge to develop 2.75 MW of solar capacity, targeting the town's landfill and other Sturbridge properties for most – if not all – of the production.
When completed, the installations are expected to offset nearly all of the town government's electricity use and achieve cost savings of $7 million to $10 million over the 20-year life of the contract.
