San Jose, Calif.-based general contractor Robert A. Bothman Inc. has completed a 1 MW solar project as part of the first phase of the U.S. Army's Fort Hunter Liggett Micro Grid project in California.
Inter Mountain Electric, Peoples Associates and McCalmont Engineering also participated in the development and construction of the project.
Modules for the project were supplied by Sharp, which produced the modules in its Memphis, Tenn., factory. The Army required Bothman to source the panels in the U.S. under the Buy American requirements specified by the Army and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Bothman notes that it plans to work on the project's second phase, with construction beginning this summer.
