BP Solar says it trained over 150 installers from 70 solar installation companies at its first U.S. Certified Installer Training Program (CIP).
Certified installers are provided access to BP Solar's marketing materials, sales leads and an online estimating tool, as well as exposure on the BP Solar Web site, the credibility of the BP Solar Certified logo, and the right to offer the five-year BP Solar service warranty.
BP Solar says it was the first in the industry to offer a certified installer program globally, starting in Germany in 2004. Since then, the program has also been implemented in Spain, Australia and the U.S.
To qualify for the CIP, installers must already be properly licensed and insured, demonstrate industry experience, and meet a standard level of training and proficiency.
