Bureau Veritas, a provider of quality assurance, health, safety and environmental services, has been selected to act as delegate chief building official for the Ivanpah Solar Power Complex project.
Owned by BrightSource Energy, the 400 MW Ivanpah project is expected to be completed in mid-2012. The project will consist of three separate plants and provide electricity to Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and Southern California Edison. Upon completion, it will nearly double the amount of commercial solar thermal electricity produced in the U.S. today, Bureau Veritas notes.
