Caleffi Hydronic Solutions says it has used reed-switching technology to develop a sealed auxiliary switch design for its Z-one zone valves. The new auxiliary switch features electrical contacts that are hermetically sealed, allowing valves to operate reliably in harsher environments, according to the company.
The switch design requires no minimum current load. As a result, an unlimited number of 24 V actuator auxiliary switches may be wired in parallel to a typical zoning relay box without concern for insufficient contact wiping current.
