Initiating its U.S. operations, Canadian PV module manufacturer Silfab Solar has announced a direct investment into U.S.-based Itek Energy LLC.
Silfab plans to integrate its automation technology into Itek’s Bellingham, Wash., facility and add a second manufacturing line to more than double PV module production of the facility.
“Our products are already deployed in 33 states,” notes Paolo Maccario, chief operating officer and general manager of Silfab. “A U.S. operation will now enable us to meet additional demands and customer appetite for U.S.-made solar modules.”
“Itek looks forward to an exciting future with expanded capabilities and greater automation,” adds John Flanagan, president and founding principal of Itek.
Itek says it has delivered more than 100 MW of U.S.-built solar modules throughout the U.S. to date.
